Description:

Cornus serecia is one of our native plants that is also popularly found in the nursery trade. Deep red stems seem to glow in the winter when washed by the snow, giving the plant 4 season interest. Flowers emerge in mid summer as white umbells, giving way to white fruit that is popular with wildlife. The fall color is downright wild, sometimes you get ALL of the fall colors on one leaf! It grows in seasonal streambeds and cool damp places in the upper foothills to montane.
