Peraphyllum ramosissimum
Wild Crab Apple
One of our showy, white flowered, spring blooming beauties. This one has the added bonus of amazing fragrance and interesting fruit that is a benefit to wildlife. I've heard of people eating the fruit, but I always found them either sour or bitter. Wildlife is less critical. It should be noted that a previous common name for this plant is "Squaw Apple," however, most have ceased using this name, as it is offensive to many.
