Description:

Rhus aromatic is also listed as Rhus triloba and is abundant in the Durango area from the lower foothills all the way to the lower montane. It displays a variety of fall colors from yellow, through orange to red and even purple. Its drupes are favored by several bird species. All parts of the plant have a strong, bitter odor reminicent of soap.
