As the common or scientific name should reveal, this plant is as poisonous as it is beautiful. It grows in Piñon-Juniper areas as well as Ponderossa or Douglas Fir dominant areas. It can be mistaken for Allium when it is not flowering, so be very careful if you're a wild onion enthusiast.
