Description:

Also known as Atragene columbiana, this plant and its closest relatives are known as the "Atragene Group" among Clematis enthusiasts. The flower color ranges from almost white to deep purple/blue and the plant is fairly common in the upper foothills to lower montane. It is common under Abies concolor, and for you mushroom hunters out there, it is very often associated with black morels. Seed heads look like a cool white firework display.
