Delphinium barbeyi

Larkspur

Family: Helleboraceae
Type: Herbaceous
Location: Lower-Montane, Upper-Montane, Subalpine
Flower Color: Purple, Blue
Fall Color: Not Available
Time of Interest: June, July, August
Description:

The "big" Delphinium grows in moist areas of the montane and subalpine. Sometimes it is quite abundant. It can be confused from afar with Aconitum columbianum. To avoid confusion, we've left this species firmly in the blue/purple flower category, but we have observed pure white flowered specimens in the wild.
